Installing Suntuf sheeting is a straight forward process with couple of things to beware of.
Minimum roof pitch is important for the trouble free life of polycarbonate sheeting. Suntuf recommend a minimum roof pitch of 5 degrees. If your roof is set at a lower pitch there’s a possibility water may drag up between the overlaps with capillary action creating some leaks during rain. You’ll need a minimum of 88mm fall for every metre of sheet length.
At different times of the day polycarbonate sheeting will expand and contract along it’s length as it warms up and cools down. To avoid stressing the polycarbonate around screw shafts, the manufacturer recommends the sheets be pre-drilled with a 10mm pilot to provide clearance from the screws shafts. To make installation easier, Suntuf Clearfix screws are available, they self drill and centre the screw in one action.
